Improving 7-day access to primary care - have your say
NHS Durham Dales, Easington and Sedgefield clinical commissioning group are proposing to change seven-day access to primary care services and would like your views on their plans.
Primary care services are the "front door" of the NHS and include GPs, pharmacies, opticians and dentists. The commissioners' plans involve reducing the number of GP "hubs", which deliver evening and weekend appointments, as currently many of the extra appointments available are not being used. The suggestion is to only offer the extended services from hubs in:
- Bishop Auckland (Dales area)
- Spennymoor/Newton Aycliffe and Sedgefield (Sedgefield area)
- Peterlee/Seaham (Easington area)
A number of events are being held across the region where you can find out more about the plans and give your feedback on them. The full list of dates and venues is available on the CCG website where you can also book a place if you do want to go to one of the meetings. You can also register to attend by calling 0191 371 3222.
If you do not go to an event but still want to give feedback on the proposals you can contribute via an online survey.
The deadline for contributions is Wednesday 19 December 2018.
