Enter and View Report - Meadowfield Surgery

This report looks at the findings from when our authorised representatives visited Meadowfield Surgery as ‘Enter and View’.

Our trained representatives went into Meadowfield Surgery on 26th April 2023 to get feedback from the patients using the doctors surgery. We carried out 21 individual interviews with patients and left surveys in the reception area prior to our visit and 5 were completed beforehand.

Below are some recommendations we have suggested to the surgery, you can find out more by reading our report linked below.

Recommendations

  • Helping patients understand the way appointments are allocated (urgent, non-urgent, referrals) could reduce patient frustration, and remove some of pressure on telephone lines first thing in the morning.
  • Promoting other options for people could reduce pressure on GP practices, such as using local pharmacies and NHS 111 who have a number of allocated emergency appointments.

  • The practice should consider how the appointment process could be made easier for people who work.

  • If patients were more aware of job roles and what staff could do, they might feel more confident to see someone else in the surgery.

Every patient wanting to book an appointment is Care Navigated ensuring they are seen in an appropriate time frame and by the appropriate Clinician or Service that is best suited to deal with their problem.
